Miranda Bailey:
played by Chandra Wilson
a lot of ppl on the greys subreddit really hate bailey now and claim its bc of the head writers and while i agree that Krista Vernon doesnt compare to Shonda Rhimes but i do think theyve stuck pretty true to the core bailey values i think its partially bc shes the chief of surgery now and has to be a hardass whereas old chiefs of surgeries would allow their doctors to commit literal crimes.
my fav Bailey centric episodes:
- the time warp s6 ep15
- run, baby, run s9 ep9
- sleeping monster s9 ep21
- (dont fear) the reaper s14 ep11
George O'Malley:
played by T.R. Knight
heavily implied to a patient who was a nazi that if he were alone in the or the nazi would be dead, and told the same nazi the he thinks the world would be a better place if he were dead :) but other than that he's just an overall good dude. i wish he'd gotten a better fate. the only reason he doesnt have a shrine is bc of his close proximity to Izzie Stevens.
my fav George centric episodes:- great expectations s3 ep13
- now or never s5 ep24
Adele Webber:
played by Loretta Devine
i really liked adele and thought she was far too good for webber, she was one of the few characters who wasnt just doing whatever tf they wanted. will never forgive the writers for the shit they put her through and her death was one of the few that truly impacted me (i was extremely high though so the data may be skewed)
my fav Adele prominent epiosodes:- deterioration of the fight or flight response s2 ep26
Mark Sloan:
played by Eric Dane
one of the few men who isnt the actual worst, he does have his moments but not as bad or as often as the other men. also i loved slexie and wish we had gotten more, and while i like mark sloan there arent really any episodes that go deeper into his backstory that i really love, and honestly i dont think there were many to begin with
Callie Torres:
played by Sara Ramirez
the only bi main character in greys history which is a bummer considering theres 19 seasons now but shes really good representation as Sara Ramirez is bi themself. she advocates a lot against harmful sterotypes that follow bi ppl and is like one of the few greys characters who hasnt cheated on their significant other, the only reason she doesnt have a shrine is bc of the calzona custody battle. oof that one was rough.
my fav callie centric episodes:- invasion s6 ep5
- the time warps 6 ep15
- white wedding s7 ep20
- sorry seems to be the hardest word s10 ep9
Catherine Fox(Avery):
played by Debbie Allen
shes jacksons mother and does a good job of bringing him back down to earth and reminding him that not everyone has had it as easy as him and that there are many ways to see the world. people on the subreddit really dont like her bc shes bossy and can be mean and has a hard time course correcting when shes having a trauma response but when people show her the error of her ways or help her logic herself out of her emotions shes really quick to change her approach and i love that about her bc that ability is few and far between in the main cast.
my fav catherine centric episodes:- judgement day s14 ep20
- bad reputation s14 ep21
- we didnt start the fire s15 ep15
Nathan Riggs:
played by Martin Henderson
one of the only good bfs meredith had, he also lost his partner (albeit she was only presumed dead as opposed to meredith's dead dead husband) so he got it and didnt push. i rlly liked how level-headed he was compared to everyone else even though he had plenty of reasons to not be (cough cough, owen).
my fav riggs centric episodes:- in the air tonight s13 ep20
- get off on the pain s14 ep2
Nicole Herman:
played by Geena Davis
her mentor/friendship with arizona was one of my favorites through the show and her entire arc was amazing and had me glued to my screen!! i was so excited they allowed her to live too, i didnt see that one coming.
my fav herman centric episodes:- dont lets start s11 ep6
- staring at the end s11 ep13
Penelope (Penny) Blake:
played by Samantha Sloyan
blake was introduced to us during derek shepherd's death episode and was one of the ppl who contributed to his death by not pushing for a head ct and bc of this reason a lot of the attendings at grey sloan treated her like shittt for a good while even though a big thing with the doctors is having compassion when other doctors do shit that costs lives bc it happens unfortunately. she was also in a trio with edwards and wilson for a while and theyre some of my fav residents that we've had other than magic
my fav penny prominent episodes:- guess whos coming to dinner s12 ep5
made andrew deluca tolerable when she tried to keep him from doing and saying stupid shit so i appreciate her for that. she also diagnosed amelias brain tumor, love that, and informed amelia of her pregnancy lmfao. also Stefania Spampinato's acting during deluca's funeral was amazing... she rlly made me feel sad for someone i really didnt like. i will probably form more opinions because one day i will watch station 19 and she's married to one of the main characters. (ok i had a depressive episode while making these pages and didnt have it in me to come back and work on it for a few months and in that time i actually ended up watching station 19 so heres my real thoughts on carina. i also decided to not delete my original thoughts so sorry tht this section is so long lol) i absolutely love carina, even more than i did from what we saw on greys (which was still a lot, i just got such good vibes from her character as a whole) i abslutely love her relationship with maya even though they've had so many problems (that usually pertain to maya being so traumatized with her father that she cant really be emotionally intimate with people in the ways she wants to.) carina is patient with maya when necessary but is also stern and blunt when she needs it as well. the plotline where carina passively mentions to maya that her (maya's) father is abusive was such a turning point for maya that she wouldnt have gotten otherwise. there are so many other reasons to love their relatuionship but this was one of my favs. just a girlie with a shitty dad supporting her girlfriend thru realizing she also has a shitty dad. as someone who had shitty dad, i eat plotlines like this up!!! thank you station 19 writers for this delicious meal.
Tom Koracick:
played by Greg Germann
there are for sure good reasons to hate koracick but his relationship with teddy was just so good and he really loved her in a way owen never has :( i wish she had picked him every day. he also has very profound moments and helps various characters through tough times (i.e. april kepner's crisis of faith and miranda bailey's miscarriage) he had so many profound things to say. also no notable episodes, they mostly use him for comedic relief and to be a person all the other characters hate :(
Levi Schmitt:
played by Jake Borelli
has come such a long way in his career as a surgeon :) from dropping glasses in an open cavity to being a resident all the attendings trust and rely on. im so excited to see more of his charater development and i hope he breaks up with nico, even if nico sucks a little less now
my fav levi centric episodes:- blowin in the wind s15 ep
- no time to die s18 ep9
- living in a house divided s18 ep10
Winston Ndugu:
played by Anthony Hill
i really like winston, hes kind and understanding and is the first person maggie has been put with who doesnt constatly try to change her which is SO refreshing. hes another dude who has trouble dealing with his own shit but he doesnt wallow or become petulant he tries to find a solution!!! s19 spoilers: like in the new season his relationship with maggie took a massive hit bc they lost all the residents at the end of last season and while there were no interns and residents to do scut a lot of it fell on winstons shoulers from maggie as he's just an attending while she's the chief of cardio and instead of taking his shit out on maggie or ignoring her or breaking up with her, as many of the greys men would, he decides to focus on switching to another specialty to save their relationship. and yeah maggie hates the idea of him doing this but it makes sense in the grand scheme of things and its the right decision for him to make. i just really hope maggie comes around lol bc i really really like them together and will be kinda pissed if they break them up!!! (not even going to lie all my fav relationships have been broken up so please greys writers please give me one(1) win anyway, moral of the story is i love this man, they better not hurt him
